The Most Common Cellulite Causes

5. Roller-coaster dieting
This is where one loses weight, then puts the weight back again, only to the weight again. This creates a vicious cycle that causes the metabolism to slow and for the body to begin to store excess fat that adds to more cellulite in the body.
6. Unhealthy eating
Eating the wrong kind of foods that are processed and those that contain excess sodium encourages water retention in your body and eventually causes cellulite.
7. Hormones
Hormones is a high contributor of cellulite. Your body has large amounts of estrogen, which actually encourages the laying down of fat cells in your body. That is why you will find cellulite uncommon in girls under puberty even if she is overweight. Hormonal changes that put you predisposed to the formation of cellulite are puberty, pregnancy and menopause.
8. Smoking
Smoke causes damage and inflammation on the skin and the lymph vessels. This impairs the circulatory and drainage of the lymph and thus damaging the quality of the skin collagen and elasticity. Research has proven that smoking has enhanced the enlargement of the cellulite over time.
